"Man, this is a nice ride." You just might agree with that statement from someone who drove it recently. Very clean and comfortable: it's a 2013 XV Crosstrek 2.0i Limited with 163k, and we replaced the engine: replacement engine has 130k.

Then we gave it a 300 mile test (our company policy) to make sure everything checks out, and it does.

Set of 4 Advanta ER-800 tires are close to new, with 9/32" tread (10/32" is new).

Did some exhaust work as well, and rear brake pads are new. Front pads have 50% of thickness remaining.

Soft, supple, smooth leather upholstery; heated seats; backup camera; fog lights. Tilt and telescoping steering wheel; tilt and height adjustable headrests. And its roof rack is more magnificent than most.

HD Radio for radically improved sound--try it out; there's a difference. 6 speakers. Steering wheel audio controls, also for handsfree cellphone bluetooth functions. Wireless audio streaming, as well as USB and 1/8" aux ports in center console. Roof antenna.

With 8.7 inches of ground clearance (the same as a Forester), it both clears many obstacles and gives you ease in getting in and out. Compared to the Forester, it has a more compact size, which makes a difference in mpg: you should get upper 20s (city) to lower 30s (highway).

Very maneuverable for an All-Wheel-Drive car: turning radius of 17.4 ft.

Automatic shift. Lineartronic CVT (continuously variable transmission) has an optional manual mode with 6-setting paddle shifters on the steering wheel.

You probably noticed the artwork in motion: 17" aluminum rims, with machined and charcoal finish.

For stability and safety, Subaru's Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) system monitors the direction of the car compared to the intended steering direction. It compensates by braking individual wheels and/or altering fuel flow to the engine. Also, the Traction Control System (TCS) senses if any wheels are skidding and redirects power only to those wheels having the best traction. This is what is meant by the word "symmetrical" in Subaru's "Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive."

Imperfections (see photos): crack in front bumper cover, hood and roof scratches (probably has some kayak hauling under its belt), pokes on both RH doors, scuff on LH fender. TPMS light is on even though all tires are inflated to recommended pressure.

But of course it has Subaru's signature All-Wheel Drive transmission for excellent handling all year round.
