Check it out ... a 2013 Impreza 2.0i Sport Limited hatchback. Of the five Impreza hatchback trims made in its generation, this one's the fanciest.

First about the drive train though: the car has 161k, but with a 31k engine (installed by Headington Repair in Decorah). Then we installed a 112k transmission (with new fluid & filter) as well as a new transmission control module, newly programmed for the car. We also gave it new brake calipers, rotors, and pads all the way around. Two new sway links, new steering angle sensor, new clockspring (for the cruise control). Balanced the tires, repaired a rim leak. We gave it a 300+ mile test to ensure that everything's working fine, and it is.

Comfortable and clean black leather interior with red dashboard lighting after dark. Tilt & telescoping steering wheel. Tilt- and height-adjustable headrests. Sunroof with both slide and tilt functions. Rear seat center armrest with cupholders.

All-Weather Package means heated front seats, outside mirror defoggers and windshield wiper de-icers. Automatic climate control.

HD Radio for radically improved sound--try it out; there's a difference. 6 speakers. Steering wheel audio controls, also for handsfree cellphone bluetooth functions. Wireless audio streaming, as well as USB and 1/8" aux ports in center console. iPod capable. Roof antenna.

Set of 4 Nexen N5000 Plus All-Season tires have 8/32" tread (10/32" is new). 17" gunmetal gray alloy wheels.

This model has Subaru's Lineartronic CVT (continuously variable transmission) for enhanced fuel economy. (Should get combined mpg of close to 30.) Works like an automatic, but has paddle shifters on the steering wheel if you'd like to use manual mode.

Ground clearance is 5.9", a bit higher than lower trim levels. Roof rails. Has a hitch! 1 1/4" receiver.

Fog lights. Headlights have dusk-to-dawn auto-on setting.

For stability and safety, Subaru's Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) system monitors the direction of the car compared to the intended steering direction. It compensates by braking individual wheels and/or altering fuel flow to the engine. Also, the Traction Control System (TCS) senses if any wheels are skidding and redirects power only to those wheels having the best traction. This is what is meant by the word "symmetrical" in Subaru's "Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive."

Imperfections (see photos): rust spots on edge of hood, LH quarter panel, LH front and RH rear running boards, pokes in front and rear bumper covers, tear in e-brake shroud, driver's seat upholstery crack.

But of course it has Subaru's signature All-Wheel Drive transmission!
