The word "elegance" comes to mind. This Crystal White Pearl AWD sedan is a 2015 Subaru Legacy 2.5i Limited with 118k. Roomier and quieter than previous generations. Improved fuel economy as well: after 300 miles, it logged 31.7 mpg combined city/hwy (see photo).

Ready to go now that we've replaced valve cover gaskets, the serpentine belt, a wheel bearing (LHR), the cruise control switch, and the A/C compressor. Recharged the A/C after vacuuming the system; also gave it an alignment and rotated and balanced the tires.

Also installed new rear brake pads and rotors. Front pads are at 5-6mm thickness (about 50% remaining, since 10mm is new for front pads).

--> Then gave it our signature 300+ mile test, and it passed.

18" alloy designer rims with a set of 4 General Altimax RT45 all-season tires are close to new: 10/32" in front and 9/32" in back. (10/32" is new, and 2/32" means Replace Now.) We rotated and balanced the tires for you, putting the deeper tread in front.

Push-button start with keyless entry. Proximity door unlock.

Automatic (CVT) transmission with optional manual mode and paddle shifters.
Double wishbone rear suspension makes for a smoother ride.

Rear seats fold down for more cargo space, extending the trunk. Cargo volume of trunk with rear seats up is 15 cf.

Active grille shutters automatically open and close in lower front grille for quicker cabin heating, improved fuel economy & aerodynamics, engine cooling, and quieter performance.

Sunroof with slide and tilt functions.

The Subaru Eyesight system is a bundle of safety features including adaptive cruise control, lane departure & sway warnings, lane keep assist, and automatic emergency pre-collision braking. These are made possible by a pair of forward-facing cameras on either side of the rearview mirror (see photos). Also has blind spot detection and rear cross-traffic alert.

Lots of amenities: Leather upholstery. Wood grain dash trim. Navigation/GPS. All-Weather Package includes heated front seats, plus defrosting outside mirrors & windshield wiper de-icers which turn on when rear defrost button is pushed. Automatic climate control with dual mode. 10-way power driver seat including power lumbar support. 4-way power passenger seat. Tilt and telescoping leather-wrapped steering wheel. Tilt- as well as height-adjustable headrests. Memory driver's seat (2 settings). Flip-down rear armrest and beverage holder. 8 cupholders in all: 4 in front, 4 in back. Heated back seats. Rear climate vents for back seat passengers.

7" touchscreen for infotainment & multimedia, backup camera, and navigation. Handsfree Bluetooth connectivity for your phone and for wireless audio streaming.

HD Radio for enhanced sound quality. 12 harmon/kardon speakers including a front center speaker and rear subwoofer. Two USB ports plus an 1/8" aux jack are in the dash console. Two 12V power outlets: one in the front console, and one in the center console.

For stability and safety, Subaru's Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) system monitors the direction of the car compared to the intended steering direction. It compensates by braking individual wheels and/or altering fuel flow to the engine. Also, the Traction Control System (TCS) senses if any wheels are skidding and redirects power only to those wheels having the best traction.

This model was a Top Safety Pick for 2015 by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. It comes with eight airbags (including side-curtain ones) as well as Brake Assist.

Imperfections (see photos): upholstery patches, scratch in LH rear door upholstery, paint peeling around rear window.

But of course this Legacy has Subaru's signature All-Wheel Drive transmission!
